About 10% of pregnant women infected with hepatitis B

Dr. Ngo Minh Xuan, Head of Neonatal Tu Du Hospital, said that at present Vietnam proportion of pregnant women infected with hepatitis B is common, accounting for 10-15% and is usually transmitted from mother to child , especially in childbirth.
On 26/11, more than 300 associate professors, doctors, physician-industry products from Children's Hospital South and organized groups of physicians L'Appel (France) attended the workshop Vietnamese-French "high-risk pregnancy: prenatal diagnosis, the treatment, care and treatment of neonatal weak" banks.

Pregnant women at risk for hepatitis B high if drug addicts, people with multiple partners, have contact with an infected person. If acute hepatitis occurs in this situation women are not immune to hepatitis B vaccine, it is necessary to prevent and serum after birth. However, the prevention by immunization and screening required in the 6th month of pregnancy is necessary for pregnant women.
